Grippy, not slippy, so smooth. The first time I practiced Vinyasa on a Yoga Strong mat.
Vinyasa yoga can be a more dynamic, physically challenging form of yoga. It often involves more power moves and faster transitions between poses than other styles of yoga, which can make for more a more energizing and invigorating practice.
The full body strength building of the chaturanga flow is one of the foundational pose sequences of vinyasa.
My favorite teachers are the ones who say “choose your own adventure” in other words, you know what’s best for your body at that moment.
For years I found the transition from the upward dog (or baby cobra, half cobra), choose your own adventure! into downward dog pretty awkward. I was always looking around to see what other people were doing with their feet. My toes would awkwardly get stuck and flop everywhere.
The first time I used my Ace of Spades mat on this transition from updog to downdog, I felt like Anna Pavlova. My tip toes glided across that mat so easily and smoothly, I felt a love and adoration I never expected for a yoga mat.
I was expecting to love the Yoga Strong mat for its beautiful, original design but the form factor, squishy firm support, and extra length brought my practice to new heights.
Not gonna lie, I had to check my ego just a bit.
Namaste.
